Virginia Cleveland is Hampton University’s oldest women’s residence hall.  Virginia Cleveland Hall is one of two buildings on campus designed by  a distinguished 19th century architect, Richard Morris Hunt.

Richard Morris Hunt is best known for designing the pedestal for the Statue of Liberty and the Biltmore Estate, and for his work on the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
