This issue is dedicated to Norman Lewis (1909–1979), and coincides with the exhibition Procession: The Art of Norman Lewis that was on view at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, PA (November 13th, 2015–April 3rd, 2016, followed by showings at the Amon Carter Museum of American Art, Fort Worth, and the Chicago Cultural Center). We are grateful for the support of Mrs. Ouida Lewis, Ms. Tarin Fuller, Michael Rosenfeld Gallery, which oversees the Norman W. Lewis Estate, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, Ruth Fine, curator of the Procession exhibition, who initiated this issue and facilitated introductions to several of its contributors, as well as to all the contributors themselves.
